Strauss & co - Review 2022

In November, Strauss & Co hosted a non-selling exhibition of works by Clément Sénèque in Johannesburg. The exhibition was timed to coincide with a new book devoted to this under- appreciated Mauritian-born painter and architect who lived in Durban. Authored by collector Nigel Hughes, Clément Sénèque, 1896-1930: A Private Collection (2022) includes an introduction by Strauss & Co’s senior art specialist Dr. Alastair Meredith. 61
