In a bid to underscore its commitment to art from Africa, Strauss & Co launched a fortnightly news digest. The African Art Business Newsletter is produced in collaboration with Art Business Conference, founded by Louise Hamlin, formerly of the Art Newspaper, London. “As both the art market on the African continent broadens and international collecting interest in African art and artists continues to increase, the digest will provide a regular, aggregated selection of articles and content from both regional and global sources”, says Bina Genovese, Managing Executive, Strauss & Co. The AAB Newsletter forms part of a broader project to diversify Strauss & Co’s offering to include young contemporary African artists from across the continent. In February 2023 Strauss & Co will host its inaugural pan-African auction in Cape Town. Titled Curatorial Voices: Modern and Contemporary Art from Africa , this curated auction of collectable art from Africa will feature a concise selection of works by modernist pioneers and contemporary trailblazers chosen by seven curators from important art centres across the continent. 55
