In October, Lace Cloth , a 1983 work painted by Siopis while teaching fine art in Durban and exhibited at the Goodman Gallery a year later, sold for R1 136 800. The price matched the record achieved for her 1986 pastel triptych, Hunting and Nature Scene , at an October 2015 Strauss & Co sale. Penny Siopis Hunting and Nature Scene Sold R1 136 800, 12 October 2015 RECORD FOR THE ARTIST 40
