Tay obtained a Fine Arts Degree at UCT and then moved to Los Angeles. There she studied Critical Studies in Film at the University of California and Interactive Media at the American Film Institute. After ten years in the USA she moved back to South Africa, where she lives and works in Hermanus. She opened the Tay Modern Gallery in Hermanus in 2007 and in Greyton in 2008. Born in Cape Town, Michael Oblowitz is a Fine Arts and Philosophy graduate of the University of Cape Town and holds an MA in Film from Columbia University. His artfilms have been screened at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and theWalker Art Center, as well Paris’ Cinemateque and Beubourg Museum. His films and documentaries have been presented at numerous interna- tional film feativals, where Sea of Darkness , amongst other of his films, won awards.
