During a career spanning almost 30 years, beginning as a graduate of Michaelis in 1983, Barend deWet has operated in the interface between material culture and social networks, consistently testing relationships and perceptions. His oeuvre encompasses sculpture, painting, performance, public interventions, fashion, hotel management, tattooing, bee-keeping, competitive yo-yoing and productive collaborations.
