Peggy Delport lectured in painting at Michaelis for 38 years, retiring as Associate Professor. Her many artistic contributions to South Africa include a striking, large-scale mural on the facade of the HolyTrinity Church, Kaizergracht Street, Woodstock, protesting forced removals in Distirict Six. Delport was also a founding trustee of the District Six Museum in CapeTown where her fresco No MatterWhere We Are,We Are Here is housed.
