The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) has been the backbone of all classical music in Cape Town since its formation in 1914, the cultural jewel in the city’s crown and a socio-economic asset. However, to ensure that the orchestra remains world-class and enable it to continue its activities, it needs financial support. The CPO offers a future for its young musicians, most of whom come from disadvantaged communities and whose lives have now been transformed.
