7 A large Chinese ivory carving of Shao lao, Qing Dynasty, late 19th/early 20th century the standing Immortal holding a ruyi sceptre in his left hand, his right hand holding his staff, his shoulders headed by the figure of a small laughing boy, the child’s hand resting on the Immortal’s head and clasping the top of the staff, with a crane by his feet, his left side carved with peaches, pomegranates and finger citron, the whole heightened and stained with black foliate decoration, the base now fixed, signed, 55cmhigh R - *This lot is not suitable for export 8 A Korean yumu, fruitwood and gilt-metal mounted cabinet, 20th century the rectangular top above a panelled frieze enclosing four bats, a pair of panelled doors below enclosing a compartment, two further graduated compartments and panels below, panelled sides, on bracket feet joined by side-stretchers, metal mounts throughout, distress, restorations, 166cm high, 114cmwide, 52,5cm deep R - 9 A Japanese bronze koro and cover, Meiji period, 1868-1912 the faceted baluster body moulded in high relief with small birds amongst flowering branches, the sides applied with a pair of ho-ho bird handles, raised on a fixed stand on four mask-headed scroll feet, the domed pierced cover surmounted by a shi-shi, later wooden base, dent to the cover, 80cm high R - 10 A Chinese plaster and giltwood figure of a courtier, 20th century the robed figure decorated with scrolling dragons, the reverse with a bat, seated on a wooden throne his feet raised on pierced metal stools, repaired, chips, the whole 36,5cm high ; with two attendants, each holding his attribute, standing on a stepped red and gilt base, repaired, chips, the taller 26cm high ; a pair of Chinese carved giltwood dogs-of-fo , 20th century, each peering over its shoulder eating a lotus bloom, on a later plinth base, some scrolls lacking, gilding worn, 24cm long ; and a Chinese giltwood figure of an Immortal, 20th century, the seated figure with fierce expression, and holding a staff in his raised right arm, his left hand holding an attribute, the reverse of the throne with aperture, minor chips, 41,2cm high (6) R - 7 8 9 10 21
