It was a collaboration between then Klein Constantia co-owner Lowell Jooste and Bordeaux wine personalities Hubert de Boüard (Chateau Angélus) and Bruno Prats (former owner of Chateau Cos d’Estournel). This is the debut release, famously heralded by Robert Parker as the finest red wine he has ever had from South Africa back in 2006. ‘Dense and layered, with lots of roasted fig, blackberry pâte de fruit and plum sauce flavours that stay defined thanks to lively ganache, espresso and anise notes throughout. The finish is very fleshy, but has lovely mouthfeel, with really polished structure sailing through.’ Wine Spectator, 93/100
