Established in 1896, Dr Paul Cluver IV pioneered the Elgin wine region and today it is a family affair. Andries Burger is married to Paul’s daughter and has been winemaker for two decades. Recognised amongst South Africa’s wine elite, Seven Flags is a barrel selection of a single Burgundian clone off the farm’s best site. ‘The 2010 Seven Flags Pinot Noir undergoes a double blind selection process and sees 40% new oak that is barely noticeable on the nose with lifted crushed strawberry, Morello and subtle dried petal scents that gently waft from the glass.
