138 Uitkyk Carlonet 1978 750ml 2 (1 x 2) R2 500 – 3 500 PROVENANCE Private Client ITEM NOTES The terroir of Uitkyk on the slopes of Simonsberg produced incredible reds from the 70s and 80s. The Carlonet was in fact one of the finest South African wines at the time, a Cabernet Sauvignon of great richness and power. These bottles have been recorked and the 1978 is in excellent condition for continued aging. ‘Lots of bright red fruit, peppery spice and mint. Lifted by fine tannins and lively acidity, this is a youthful and delicate wine of true elegance and persistence.’ Higgo Jacobs, 95 points
