112 Vergelegen V 2004 750ml 6 (1 x 6) R10 000 – 12 000 PROVENANCE Private Client ITEM NOTES Situated on the Schaapenberg Mountains, Vergelegen dates back 300 years. Anglo America purchased the property in 1987 and invested extensively in the estate before André van Rensburg arrived in 1998. Having produced fine, modern wines for two decades, Vergelegen is one of South Africa’s top producers. The flagship V is a Cabernet Sauvignon carefully selected from their Stonepine and Rondekop vineyards. ‘Complete palate, clever winemaking but still lots of tannins in evidence. This is one to cellar, not drink and may well develop into something lovely. The corsetry is still a bit obvious but it did open out in the glass impressively.’ Jancis Robinson, 17.5+/20
