101 Warwick Trilogy 2007 750ml 6 (1 x 6) R5 000 – 7 000 PROVENANCE Wine Cellar ITEM NOTES Situated on the famed slopes of the Simonsberg in Stellenbosch, Warwick Wine Estate was purchased in 1964 by Stan and Norma Ratcliffe who planted the estate to, mostly, Bordeaux varieties. With their son Mike Ratcliffe taking over the reins in 1999, Warwick was propelled to even greater heights. The Trilogy, named for the three major varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, is their flagship blend. This thoroughbred blend from the cool, long-ripening 2007 vintage is all ‘cassis, tobacco & fine cedarwood complexity; firm tannic grip.’ Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2011, 4.5 stars
