He is widely known as a collector and promotor of art, and for the extraordinary precision of his printmaking made manifest in the illustrated books The Rooinek and The Hunter. Guenther began his career in Germany as a gemmologist and jeweller and soon after immigrating to South Africa in 1951 he started a jewellery workshop in Johannesburg. We have the rare opportunity on this auction to offer on sale four pendants made in Guenther’s studio in 1962 by members of the Amadlozi group, Cecil Skotnes, Hannes Harrs and Cecily Sash.
