11 Announcing Strauss & Co’s Bursary Recipients for 2018 ‘In February 2018, at Strauss & Co’s inaugural contemporary art auction, the company made a commitment to devote 20% of the net proceeds of this sale to an educational fund. The Strauss Bursary has been established to enable suitable candidates to pursue post-graduate studies in Art and/or Art History at a South African university. We are delighted to announce that two bursary recipients have been selected. Their names will be revealed at Strauss & Co’s second contemporary art auction in Cape Town on 16 February 2019. This is an important milestone for Strauss & Co and underscores the company’s on-going commitment to being a significant and pro-active contributor to the art ecosystem in South Africa.
