The DavidFinlayson Edgebaston Lot Edgebaston wines are made by David Finlayson on the Finlayson family vineyards in Stellenbosch. The range of wines is made to reflect the personality and winemaking philosophy of the region and the Finlayson family. The winning bidder will receive a family collection containing the “GS” Cabernet Sauvignon 2012. This will include one bottle of each; 375ml, 750ml, 1.5 litre, 3 litre, 5 litre, 9 litre, 12 litre and 18 litre. This is the equivalent to 66 750ml bottles of wine or eleven cases. This collection is the only one of its kind in the world and was created exclusively for The AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction. The “GS” Cabernet Sauvignon is made from one clone of Cabernet Sauvignon planted on Edgebaston. Only 2400 750ml bottles have been produced. The wine is named in honour of George Spies and the famous 100% pure Cabernet Sauvignon wines he made in the 1960’s. The wine displays Cabernet Sauvignon cassis and blackcurrant fruit on the nose as well as having a fresh minty, herbaceousness backed by mocca vanilla. Today David Finlayson makes this wine with the blessing of the Spies family with the aim to bring the iconic name back to the forefront of South African Red wine production. In addition, the winning bidder will enjoy a private, hosted dinner for ten people in the winery with food prepared by Chaine de Rotisseurs member and celebrity Lebanese chef Ghenwa Steingazner. — www.edgebaston.co.za — Lot Summary An incredible collection of the “GS” Cabernet Sauvignon in 375ml, 750ml, 1.5 litre, 3 litre, 5 litre, 9 litre, 12 litre and 18 litre. This is the equivalent to eleven cases of wine. — A private dinner for ten people hosted in the winery with food prepared by Chaine de Rotisseurs member and celebrity Lebanese chef Ghenwa Steingazner. — AUCTION AMBASSADORS - David Finlayson 63
