Strauss & co - 13 February 2016, Cape Town

The De Grendel Lot De Grendel, meaning latch or lock in Dutch, is one of Cape Town’s most historic farms, stretching out over almost 330 hectares on the fynbos-covered slopes of Tygerberg Hill. The breathtaking view of Table Mountain from the farm, 350 meters above sea level, is argueably the best in the Cape Winelands. On a clear day, you can see all the way from Table Bay to False Bay, and sometimes even on to Cape Point. The winning bidder will receive a numbered and limited release red blend De Grendel wine called “Sir David Graaff First Baronet of Cape Town” and a numbered bottle of limited release first addition John Meyer collaboration / De Grendel Rubaiyat. The John Meyer Limited edition De Grendel Rubaiyat 2011 was launched in 2015 and only eighty individually numbered bottles signed by the artist are available. A helicopter trip for four people from Cape Town’s Waterfront to De Grendel for wine tasting and lunch. Followed by a helicopter trip up the coast to the exclusive family fishing home at Blombos for two nights. Sir De Villiers Graaff, the De Grendel chef Ian Bergh and winemaker Charles Hopkins will accompany the guests for a relaxing time of good food, good wine, fishing and great company. — www.degrendel.co.za — Lot Summary A numbered 1.5 litre bottle of De Grendel limited Edition John Meyer Rubaiyat 2011. — A numbered 1.5 litre bottle of De Grendel’s yet to be released red blend called “Sir David Graaff First Baronet of Cape Town”. — AHelicopter trip for four people from the V&AWaterfront to De Grendel for an exceptional lunch at the De Grendel Restaurant. — AHelicopter trip for four people to Graaff ’s exclusive family home for two nights in the private and isolated Blombos accompanied by Sir De Villiers Graaff, wine maker Charles Hopkins and chef Ian Bergh. — AUCTION AMBASSADORS - Sir De Villiers Graaff 55
